My review: In the Miso Soup is, without a doubt, one of the most interesting novels I've read this year. Miso is an extremely healing fermented food commonly used in Japan and China. I use a mixture of the white and aged miso. The first time I was offered miso soup, years ago, I passed. I want to recommend it to everybody I know who reads but I know that wouldn't be a good idea. The whole thing took about two minutes of prep and twenty minutes of idle cooking. Top with pan seared sliced porcini. Infact having miso soup is not at all surprising when the Japanese have been doing it along for many years. And that love burns on – deep and true – for this fresh and frisky Gingered Carrot White Miso Soup! It has been in the high 70's down to the 40's with either rain or shine. I don't know about you but the weather here in the Midwest has been really weird and confusing the last couple of weeks. Last weekend we bought the most amazing 5 yr aged miso and so I had to put it to good use and make two big batches of miso soup! I think the cloudy broth and seaweed made me nervous. I have proclaimed my love of simple, easy and fuss free vegetable soups. Better at school) and it aids digestion of the other food in the intestines.
